Social Work Minor (M)

The Social Work Minor is designed for students who wish to explore the breadth of the social work profession and develop a deeper understanding of human behavior within social systems. Grounded in a strengths-based perspective, the minor emphasizes recognizing and building upon the inherent capacities of individuals, families, communities, and organizations. Students gain foundational knowledge and skills to understand how social, economic, cultural, and institutional systems influence human experiences and contribute to social inequities.

This minor is well suited for students interested in serving diverse populations, advocating for social justice, and applying systems-level thinking in a variety of professional settings. The Social Work Minor is open to students in all majors, with the exception of Social Work majors.
