Music Therapy Major (M)

The Music Department at Concordia University Wisconsin serves as a comprehensive academic unit with programs in music with various career-focused concentrations, Music Therapy Equivalency, and K-12 Music Education (State Licensure). The CUW Music Department further contributes to the spiritual, artistic, cultural, academic, and co-curricular aspects of campus life at the University. Music faculty are committed to blending talent and fellowship while fostering the highest degree of professional artistry in praise of the Lord’s name.

The Music Therapy Equivalency major develops student’s knowledge and abilities in music theory, history, conducting, pedagogy, and performance. While studying at Concordia University Wisconsin, students in the Music Therapy Equivalency program will have the opportunity to concurrently work toward a music therapy equivalency at Alverno College. The music therapy equivalency component of the program allows students to focus on specific courses required to become a board certified music therapist.

A complete listing of enforceable Music Department procedures is published annually in the Music Department handbook, which is issued at music major orientation.
